Ignition Community Garage

Brand Development – Logo Design – Packaging – Environmental Design

About The Project

During my senior year at the University of Hartford I created ‘Ignition Community Garage’ a thesis project that was presented at the 2025 BFA VCD Exhibition. The theme of the exhibition was designs that solve a problem, and the issue that I was looking to provide a solution to is the decrease of automotive knowledge. As learning how to do maintenance on your vehicle should be easy, accessible and stress-free.

To bring this community garage that provides educational material to life I designed manuals , tool kits , garage wear and other merch. For the presentation I created three manuals ; how to change your oil , how to change your windshield wipers and how to change your tire. In each manual it includes written and illustrated instructions on how to complete each task.

The Ignition Community Garage exhibition booth was designed to look as if you were stepping into the real space from the how to change your tire wall to the air fresheners and key chains that would be for sale.

Ignition Manuals

The Ignition Community Garage offers physical and digital manuals that come with a parts kit. I had illustrated, formatted, printed and assembled manuals so that it could be a take away during the exhibition. I also had created faux business cards for Ignition and on each had a QR code to one of the three manuals I created
